The doctor I saw was great, however severely disappointed by their reception service and misleading billing. Firstly, I booked a Spot Check ($80) and waited over 30mins to be seen. Once I was called in, I CONFIRMED with Dr. Ali that it was a spot check and it only took about 20 seconds total to check 3 spots. It was straightforward and quick because I already had a full skin check the month before. Here is where they sting you - I sat down with him for a few minutes because he wanted to explain what moles to look out for, so the total consultation was around 5 minutes. After I left, the receptionist charged me $150!! They said it was actually time based and if it was under 3 minutes it would be $80... Completely shocked I asked if they could invoice me as a private patient so I could claim this skin check from my health insurance instead for a better rebate. They said yes, but then gave me the invoice WITH the Medicare item number on it and said no they can't do that.... So I can't claim from them. Just an FYI for everyone reading this - Expect to be charged almost double for a spot check unless you want to be rude to the kind doctor to keep the consult under 3 minutes. Go for the full skin check instead, at least it's better value for money.

I have been using the Qld Skin Clinic for about 8 years now. I moved an hours drive away and tried other places for my checks and treatment but they derfinitely didn't live up to the standard I was used to, so I now drive the hour to go back to this clinic. I'm 50 and have worked in the sun my whole life, so skin checks are extremely important to me and this clinic is the only one I trust with mny skin health. Joe D

My go-to for a skin check is Dr Hossein, my partner and I see him annually and he is honestly the best. Super professional, knowledgeable and makes us as women feel safe and looked after.

I had my first skin check appointment with Dr Esther Tu. She was very thorough in checking all of my spots and also spent time explaining what to look for with spots moving forward. Would highly recommend.
