DAVI SENA · GOOGLE REVIEW
I saw Dr. Zhang this week regarding a condition that had all the symptoms of inflammation, including a high temperature. She did not want to prescribe any medication, so I sought a second opinion from a different doctor and was prescribed antibiotics. My last visit was six months ago when she ordered a mammogram at a different clinic. Afterward, she called me to say there were no issues. However, during today’s visit, she informed me that there were additional details and that I need to retest now. This means she held onto these results for half a year without contacting me to correct the issue. I have been a patient at that medical centre for 7 years and had much better experiance in the past. I am absolutely at a loss for words regarding the quality of service at this practice now.
I visited Medical Centre today and had a truly wonderful experience. I’m not afraid of needles or blood tests, but my veins are very difficult to find. In the past, a nurse attempted to take blood from my wrist, tried seven times, and I ended up fainting. That experience was quite traumatic for me. Because of this, after fainting multiple times during previous blood tests, I was genuinely very anxious going into today’s appointment. However, thanks to the nurse who took care of me, I felt safe for the first time. She was incredibly patient, spoke to me calmly, reassured me throughout the process, and clearly explained why my previous experiences had been handled incorrectly. Despite my “ghost veins,” I didn’t feel even the slightest pain. I honestly didn’t feel the needle at all. Even though I am a foreigner living here, she made me feel completely at home. I would also like to thank Dr. Maji. He listened carefully to everything I shared, understood my concerns clearly, answered all of my questions, and helped me by creating a clear roadmap for my next steps. He was extremely attentive, professional, and reassuring.
Long story short, I do not recommend going to this clinic due to my poor experience with Dr. Yan Zhang. Dr. Zhang has demonstrated an ignorant, condescending attitude. I understand that she is a medical expert, so she may have concluded that my concerns and requests were not as reasonable as I thought they were. Nevertheless, she did not bother listening to my concerns and just straight up ignored me. I ended up visiting another GP at a different clinic on the same day, who actually listened to me and provided the support I needed (as most other GPs, who are not like Dr. Zhang, would have). I also want to mention that during the consultation, Dr. Zhang randomly alluded to an idea that I should get my mental health checked. This was out of nowhere, as I did not bring this topic up at all and I have never had any mental health issues in my life. If anything, due to her lack of listening, I may have looked anxious as I desperately needed prompt support. I was offended by her comment but decided to just move on. As said, I understand that she is a medical expert, so when I visited the other GP at a different clinic who actually helped me, I inquired about my mental health status just in case. Fortunately, they confirmed that I am as mentally healthy and stable as I claim to be. I feel bad for leaving a 1-star review as the receptionists and the nurse were very kind. The nurse (sadly I don't recall her name) genuinely listened to me, empathized with my concerns and frustration from not getting the support I needed, and tried her best to help me out within her capacity. But Dr. Zhang should really change the way she communicates with her patients. I can see that all the negative reviews receive a template reply from the clinic, saying that the message has been passed onto the team. I really hope Dr. Zhang reads these reviews, including mine, because after all, there are many patients who are relying on her for their medical needs.
Avoid Dr. Yan Zhang! She demonstrates an alarming level of ignorance regarding her patients' needs and questions. Rather than responding with informed medical advice, she often suggests remedies or courses of action that fall well outside her expertise and remit. This not only creates confusion but also undermines the trust in her. Dr. Zhang is extremely arrogant, often dismissing patient's concerns rather than actively listening. Her tendency to neglect timely responses leaves you feeling unsupported and frustrated. Additionally, she appears reluctant to prescribe necessary medications or tests. Overall, her approach to patient interaction is profoundly lacking in empathy and professionalism. Dr. Zhang attracts some unusual five-star feedback from a number of fake accounts, with a single review posted in their history. Please report these fake reviews, so future patients are aware
