The reputation of Dr. Callender is well established and rightly so. She is personable, knowledgeable and caring. As with any office, the front desk staff are the gatekeepers to the office; one's first impression. Initially I found the front desk to be abrupt and unhelpful. After asking to whom I was speaking, the person softened and became less aggressive. I managed to book an appointment (8 weeks out). Upon checking in for my appointment, I felt as if I was an imposition to the young lady checking me in. There was no, "Welcome, Hello or smile". It was a pretty uncomfortable first-time experience. Dr. Young's medical student was adequate in assessing why I had come in and the doctor was pleasant. Upon another call to the office, Lisa was very kind and helpful. Thank you, Lisa! It is pretty disappointing that after having become an established patient, I was unable to get an appointment for an issue which arose after my first visit which I thought may have been because of the medication prescribed. The office has no policy in place for "emergency/urgent" issues so I had to wait almost a month to be seen. I would like to suggest considering scheduling blocks of time for established patients as it's been difficult to wait to be seen for a dermatologic problem - as that's why I came in the first place. I'm hoping this will turn out to be the right practice for me. Time will tell.

As a first time customer, I had an excellent experience with Callender Dermatology! From check in with Ms.Cunningham to my service with Angela, everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. I was panicked due to having a bad breakout and my skin improved tremendously within 24-48 hours of my treatment. Angela talked me through my facial, provided personalized recommendations, and suggested products for a treatment plan. I appreciate her patience and details with all my questions! Thank you for being thorough and I look forward to being a regular client!

My first appointment with Dr. Young was GREAT!!! Parking was super even with all the snow. The staff was friendly, very professional and made me comfortable. Dr. Young was thorough and answered all my questions. I will definitely see her again and would recommend her to anyone in need of a excellent Dermatologist. My wife and two cousins see her on a regular basis. I would rate Dr. Young and her staff 10 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟's, if I could.

The doctor is good but it’s a coin toss as to how long you will wait. My appointment was at 11:00am and I am still waiting. The reason they were running behind is plausible however, I as a client should be told that information upfront. I had to ask before being told they were15-20 minutes behind, which turned into over an hour. The PA who finally came in was Linda S. who was worth the wait. She was informative, professional and provided both an apology and explanation for the scheduling issue. Just come prepared to wait but the excellent service is worth it!!!!

I was very satisfied with my visit today with Dr. Young. However, I was not satisfied that I had to call to inquire about my appointment being rescheduled because of the office closing on 1/28/26. To me, the office staff should have taken the responsibility to reach out to those customers and offer a rescheduled date. Luckily when I called, I got an appointment the very next day. In addition, it takes much too long to get expired prescriptions renewed. That process should be fairly quick.
