I had an amazing experience at Arta Medical Spa! From the moment I walked in, Safiyah made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. She offered me water and coffee, explained the entire laser hair removal (LHR) process from beginning to end, and made sure I understood what to expect and how to take care of my skin afterward. She was extremely professional, detail-oriented, and patient offering breaks whenever the treatment got intense. The office itself is spotless, easy to find, and has a relaxing atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. As a Black man who’s struggled with razor bumps and ingrown hairs for years due to my coarse curly hair (even had to spend a few days 8 in the hospital because of them!), I was honestly nervous at first. But Safiyah really understood my skin type and hair texture, and she customized a treatment plan specifically for my complexion. That level of care made all the difference. I also love that this is a Black-owned business, and I truly encourage more men especially men of color (fellas please ignore all stigmas!! your body will thank you) to be open-minded to the benefits of these treatments. I’m already seeing a huge improvement, and I couldn’t recommend Safiyah and Arta Medical Spa more highly.

What can I say… I was nervous to try a new place for laser hair removal and Safiyah was beyond amazing! She’s welcoming, easy to talk to, and great at her job. I will 100% be coming back— I trust her completely and would rather support a small woman owned business anyway! You won’t regret going to Arta Med Spa. 🫶

This was my very first experience with any type of medical spa, and I couldn’t be happier that I chose Arta Medical Spa for my Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra (DPN) removal. After turning 40, I noticed the growing number of DPNs that were appearing on my face and neck, which started to make me less confident. I started searching for a place that specialized in African American skin, as I’ve heard that melanated skin can sometimes react negatively to certain treatments. That made me especially nervous since the removal was on my face. While skimming through different websites, I paid close attention to companies that included discussions about melanated skin and photos of African American women. Arta Medical Spa checked those boxes. Scheduling with Safiyah was super easy and convenient. From the moment we met, she was so personable and welcoming, which instantly eased my nerves. She reassured me about the process, explained everything clearly, and was incredibly knowledgeable about proactive skin care, management, and follow-up. The actual removal was quick, the pricing was reasonable, and the results are amazing! Most importantly, now they are gone and the skin is healing! I have committed to wearing sunscreen daily to protect my skin going forward. I highly recommend Arta Medical Spa and Safiyah to anyone, especially those with melanated skin. If you’re looking for professional, safe, and effective skin care this is the spa for you. I’ll definitely be back for future spa treatments!

I found Arta Medical Spa on Classpass while looking for waxing services, but saw they offered a lip flip as well. I've been thinking about trying this procedure for about two years and decided to give it a go. I was greeted by Dr. Safiyah West in her very clean and state-of-the-art office. She was very open and honest about what the procedure entailed, discomfort involved, and aftercare instructions. I really enjoyed meeting her. The procedure itself was mildly uncomfortable, no more than 4 little pricks to my lip area. I didn't experience any swelling, redness, or bruising. While I haven't experienced the flip yet (that happens as the botox activates in about 7-12 days), I'm very pleased with the level of care and professionalism I received from Dr. West.

Dr. Safiyah was incredibly kind and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend. You can tell she cares a lot about getting you good results and she explains everything very thoroughly. I had a great experience!!
