“After a complete double mastectomy for breast cancer, I knew I would be forever changed. I had an absolutely wonderful cancer surgeon, but I was terrified of choosing the wrong reconstruction surgeon”

I wanted to share about my recent experience with Dr. Miranda and her team. I had surgery in February, and it was a seamless and wonderful pre-op, surgery, and post-op experience. I felt taken care of and listened to by Dr. Miranda. During my consultation, I felt like she understood my concerns and desires for my outcomes and explained the risks so I understood what I was getting into. She also understood the challenges I had and what we were trying to tackle. Also, it was nice to have a doctor who was fun, and I enjoyed coming to see! Surgery is scary, but she was great at putting me at ease. Her team was great as well- they were always willing to answer any questions I had and responded right away on MyChart. They talked me through that first appointment of removing my drains and bandages, which I was nervous about, but they were so great about helping me through. Great team!

One of the best doctors I have ever had!! She is kind, VERY knowledgeable and does amazing work! I had breast reconstructive surgery after my bi-lateral mastectomy due to breast cancer and Dr. Miranda was so compassionate and listened to my concerns and questions. I knew going into my surgery that I was in good hands and that she was going to use her expertise and judgement during my reconstruction. The results were amazing!!! So happy with the way everything turned out

I had a very frustrating experience with Swedish Plastics and Aesthetic Surgery. My provider sent a referral for a seroma that needed to be drained, but no one from the office ever contacted me to schedule. Because I was concerned about my condition getting worse, I called them myself. During that call, I explained my condition to a female staff member, only to be told that the office could not perform the drainage because my original surgery was not done through their practice. I clarified my understanding that follow-up care for complications is typically provided as long as the surgery was not performed out of the country, which in my case it was not. The response I received was inconsistent, as I was then told there were no available appointments until August. This left me confused as to whether I was being denied care altogether or simply facing a scheduling delay. When I asked for clarification, I requested to speak with a supervisor. I was transferred to a voicemail that did not even identify who I was leaving a message for. I left a message and never received a call back—it's now been over a week. The lack of communication, inconsistent information, and failure to follow up—especially for a medical concern—was extremely disappointing and concerning. Patients dealing with complications deserve clear guidance and timely care, not confusion and silence. I would not recommend this office based on my experience.

I'm writing this review because of how my wife was treated when she called to schedule a consultation for a breast reduction surgery on March 31, 2026. A receptionist (who didn't even bother to ask for her name or introduce herself for that matter) asked only for her height and weight, then told her she couldn't be seen because her BMI was too high. When my wife asked for clarification, she was told to "just lose weight." This is not acceptable. My wife was already nervous making this call. To have a receptionist make her feel dismissed and humiliated, without involving a doctor or even treating her like a person, is a serious failure in patient care. If there are clinical requirements for consultations, they should be communicated with empathy and by the right person. I sincerely hope this office reflects on how its staff represents the practice and more importantly, how they treat people who are reaching out for medical help.
