Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 Re: Janine Pawlus Preforming Surgical Procedures / Debilitating Injury Janine Pawlus, Nurse at The Chicago Aesthetic Surgery Institute. Complaint focus on her debilitating injury/her right wrist. Complaint focus on the disfiguration of my face due to Janine Pawlus impaired motor skills. I have been under the care of Janine Pawlus approx. 3 years after Covid-19. My temples with craniosynostosis affected my children/my aging hemosiderin staining. We began a plan; patient/nurse relationships have a medical expectation of care/disclosure/trust. A debilitating injury is immediate or progressive; Janine’s is progressive: Debilitating injury means being seriously affected in one's ability or strength to carry on with regular activities. The progression of my injury directly caused by Janine Pawlus’ impairment happened in 4 appts. She lacks conscience; her actions were the proximate cause that affected my facial disfigurement. On March 21st, 2023 Janine made a judgmental error when injecting fully described in other documents. The next 3 appointments on April 13th... June 19th... August 31st, 2023 her judgement continued to be blurred/the repair plan changed each visit. During my appointment on August 31st, 2023, Janine came to the appointment with her Right Wrist in a brace/under the brace was a sock to prevent scraping of her fingers on the brace. Her motion was impacted and her pain was obvious. She described the injury as ongoing/a tear/living on Tylenol/Voltaren for pain/she sleeps in a full-length brace/her arm upright. Her motor skills injury did not happen between June 19th and August 31st, 2023 appts; she had to wear the brace during my appt. On August 10th, 2023 we zoomed for my temple disfigurement/we scheduled the August 31st appointment. She failed to disclose her wrist injury to her wrist/I would not have traveled had I known about her injury. During her repair attempt she could not move her wrist on my left temple/cheekbone. Janine makes no reasonable attempt to acknowledge my swollen tissue/cheek pain. Janine is obviously continuing to struggle at work daily. My second facial injury is the tip of her laser outlined on my lower right cheek. Janine lost 3 teeth and claimed her arthritis flared when working on my body. Friday, September 15th, 2023 Dr. Stefan Szczerba called to explain the financial separation between him and Janine Pawlus at CASI. There is no accountability for Janine from Dr. Szczerba. He does share moral and professional culpability with the Nurse. I managed to explain the pain in my cheekbone to the Doctor and he hung up. My pain became worse and the skin began to show visible divots on the temples. I requested antibiotics on Thursday, September 21st, 2023, Janine Pawlus and Dr. Szczerba ignored my pain. I had a Z-Pack from my Dentist. The pain is not gone/it is better/the swelling is not worse. I will request financial restitution through the court; through IDFPR if permissible. Action Requested: to conduct a complete investigation on Janine Pawlus with discipline.

Wow I'm speechless! That whole team in the office went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Shout out to my nurse CC, Dr Szczerba, and my anesthesia Dr. Bob i was so nervous about being put under not first time but it is still scary. They were amazing and called me a day before procedure and the day of of,and the next day!" I got a breast implant exchange first implants were there as well . I'm not going to lie i had a few surgies and by far this was the easiest one yet! Thanks everyone:) oh ya also a shout out to the beautiful boss lady. Dr Szczerba completed a neck lift and lower face lift on me and I am extremely happy with the results. He and his staff were so caring and thorough. I had only a little discomfort - no pain. He prescribed pain medication but I didn’t need it. Even his anesthesiologist was wonderful and called me the night before to discuss any questions I might have.

I went to Dr. Szczerba in May to correct my jawline, as he assured me of a perfect result. Unfortunately, five months after the procedure, not only have I seen no improvement, but the condition has worsened. I now have two noticeable sunken holes in my cheeks, and my mouth has been damaged for several months, tilting to the left. The outcome is terrible, and my family and friends have all noticed the drastic change. I am devastated, having spent a significant amount of money for what turned out to be a disastrous result. I approached Dr. Szczerba three times, requesting that he correct the issues, but he refused each time. When I mentioned I would leave a negative review, he expressed that he didn’t care. This experience has left me heartbroken, as I invested so much for a procedure that left me worse off. Update 6/10/2025 - He told me to wait a year to see the final result. I’ve now been waiting for a year and one month, and honestly, the outcome is very disappointing it is far from what I expected. The results are poor, and the care I received was inadequate. This has been a frustrating experience overall. Worst doctor I’ve ever dealt with. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone looking for quality care.
