“Dr Erica P is fantastic physician. She was very kind, patient, and caring with my eight-year-old daughter. As a physician myself, it is very clear to me when a fellow physician goes above and beyond to provide quality care”

This was my first time at this practice. The staff was excellent!! They were friendly and hospitable. I only had about a 5 minute wait until I was brought back to the exam room. The nurse was friendly and very knowledgeable. The doctor came in a few a few minutes later. He was extremely nice and took care of my issues quickly and professionally. I would definitely recommend this practice and I will definitely go back if needed.

I couldn’t believe how everything moved like clockwork. Everyone was so pleasant—from the person who scheduled my appointment, to the front desk when I checked in, to my nurse, who was awesome & down to earth wish i knew her name, and Dr Perilstein. Every time I’ve visited to have something checked or removed, I’ve left with my mission accomplished and feeling so much better. They truly make the entire experience easy, seamless, and reassuring. I highly recommend this practice!

Dr. McGuinn was friendly and the care she provided was thorough. She patiently answered all my questions. Her assistant was also very pleasant. I highly recommend Dermatology Associates of Plymouth Meeting.

In 2024, I started having a problem with my scalp, and Dr. Eleni McGeehin, M.D., told me that it was seborrheic dermatitis. I had more than six appointments between that time and the beginning of this year in an effort to obtain a correct diagnosis. None of these visits were scheduled because the doctor recommended that I follow up; rather, I made the appointments myself because my symptoms were not improving. During her maternity leave, I saw one of her colleagues, Dr. Thomas Griffin, Jr., M.D., who told me not to worry, that I was not going to go bald, and that I had an excessive amount of hair. It is incredible that, instead of having a skin examination during the first consultation, I had to request one myself. That is what happened several months later. She examined my scalp very superficially and continued to say that it was seborrheic dermatitis, even though I told her that the hair follicles appeared inflamed and that there was scaling around the hair shafts. From the very first consultation, I could already see that my frontal hairline was very red, and I was experiencing intense itching, burning, and pain. I don’t understand how such obvious and persistent symptoms could have been considered simply dermatitis, especially when they continued and worsened over time. I told the doctor that I was experiencing hair loss, including loss of my eyebrows and eyelashes. It wasn’t until this year, when I asked for a biopsy, that I received a completely different diagnosis: a rare and aggressive type of alopecia (LPP) that had not been properly treated. I had to travel to Mexico, where I am originally from, to get a second opinion. Without even telling the doctor about my previous diagnosis, simply examining my scalp with a Trichoscopy was enough for them to diagnose me during that first visit. They also took photographs to document and monitor the progression of the disease over time. They take more time to listen to you, and you don’t feel rushed through the appointment—as if, after just ten minutes with the assistant and the doctor, they are already moving on to the next patient.
